Youth Quest

Troubled youth can sometimes be a perplexing challenge for those who work to help them make positive changes in their lives. "I have done all I can and I do not know what to do anymore", is something we have most likely heard from a parent. Helping professionals make wonderful progress with youth everyday yet sometimes youth end up incarcerated or in trouble with the law.

Ask just about any parent and they will tell you about the wonderful attributes they see in their child, yet they search for a way to direct them away from destructive behaviors and acquaintances. "They have so much potential but they are just throwing their lives away." How many times have we tried to help a parent or loved one that is feeling that way?

Now Youth Quest of America is setting out to inspire youth to discover and develop the potential each and every one of them posses. We will do this by sharing stories of inspiration from those who were once on the wrong path as youth but later turned their lives around to become successful and live productive lives. The youth will hear about simple and effective changes that led to profound change which resulted in becoming responsible and gaining new direction. Also included in this effort will be stories from those who work with youth and can share the stories of others that have overcome challenges and struggles as youth resulting in the successful change. This will help share two important perspectives. One from those who once sat where these youth sit today and one from those who helped the youth in the transformation of their lives.

We are excited about taking real life stories directly to the youth and laying out examples of success that came from challenging situations very similar to their own. Often times our youth are looking for role models and examples they can relate to in a way where they can find a practical key element to facilitate change in their lives.

Our Discovering Potential Speakers Tour will take us to detention facilities, probation departments, youth programs, and other places where youth-at-risk can hear the powerful and inspiring stories of people who are sure to provide valuable insight and inspiration.
